The area being restructured is affected, both directly and indirectly, by the planned road infrastructure projects.
The strategic projects on higher-level roads will result in a reclassification of the stretch of the S.S. No. 13, which should take on a more local character and reduce through traffic, primarily freight, thus improving the environmental conditions of the entire area and enhancing its tourism potential.
In parallel, significant improvements are planned for the local roads connected to the individual intervention areas. While primarily aimed at improving the usability of the revitalized area, they will also have beneficial effects on the entire Camporosso complex.
The first area to be redeveloped is the stretch of Via Genziana, which will be immediately and directly enhanced by the planned construction of the Camporosso roundabout on the S.S. No. 13, a project to be carried out by the A.N.A.S. (National Association of Italian Road Traffic Authorities).
Within the S.d.F. The dimensional and functional redevelopment of Via Genziana is planned, primarily with regard to the former railway underpass.
Currently, this underpass is approximately 5 meters wide and has a clear height of approximately 2.5 meters, which is completely inadequate for the proper management of both current and, especially, projected traffic.
The project calls for widening the underpass to 8 meters, while its height will be increased to 3.5 meters. This sizing was designed to ensure traffic selection at the expense of heavy vehicles.
The area of the former Camporosso station is suitable for, as envisioned by the S.d.F., transformation into an area hosting a mix of accommodations, residential accommodation, services, and greenery; all while maintaining the continuity of the “Alpe-Adria” cycle path.
The plan outlined in the “guide project” identifies the following lines of action:
Maintenance of valuable buildings;
Maintenance and relocation of the bike path;
Feasibility assessment of new volumetric improvements;
Definition of external public and private green areas.
