Project Info
The Municipality of GRADO is a complex territorial entity encompassing significant historical, artistic, and environmental highlights, along with significant economic activities linked to the proximity of the lagoon, which together determine the city’s natural tourist vocation.
Historically, access to the island was ensured via the “Litoranea Veneta” canal. Since 1930, Grado has been connected to the mainland via the SS 352 road, which connects the city via a swing bridge.
Tourism enhancement of the area has also been achieved through the urban redevelopment of part of the Schiusa Island, with the construction of a new tourist dock located between the cemetery and the island itself; and dredging of the lagoon’s ancient canals to promote and improve the oxygenation of the stagnant waters, as well as improve navigability.
Improve access to the island from the mainland by modifying the current bridge connecting it to the SS 352 or by adopting an alternative, even radical, solution to permanently solve the problem of access to the lagoon for pleasure and work boats.
