Project Info
The tree-lined square project was achieved by raising part of the square, partially above the Via Gramsci underpass and the underground metro line.
At the center of the project area, three large existing grates, essential for the operation of the subway below and the maintenance of the underpass’s emergency exit, were also raised.
The design goal was to create a ventilated and shaded space that resembles an “urban forest.” Therefore, it was necessary to identify medium-tall trees with broad foliage that could be planted closely together.
