Project Info

The identified priority is the redevelopment and enhancement of the port area, which is currently inadequate to meet the technological and functional needs of today’s tourist port.

The Maratea tourist port currently accommodates approximately 300 vessels, predominantly small- and medium-sized vessels. An expansion is proposed to accommodate 600 medium- and large-sized vessels. This project requires obtaining a 50-year concession to manage the port.

Construction of land-based port system integration facilities. To complement the current situation, and in conjunction with all possible renovations of the existing building stock, the parking offering should be expanded for both port users and for transit tourists and residents. The marina must have all the services, commercial, and residential facilities necessary to operate fully. This is intended not as a purely transit and/or refuge-based tourist port, but as an active and extended presence over long periods of the year, thus enabling an expansion of the economic impact on the region.
